R32C/100系列與M32C/80向上相容且支援M16C家族的主要特點,例如低功耗、低噪音和高EMI/EMS性能。標準內部周邊功能包含16位元多功能計時器(包括三相馬達控制計時器)、非同步/同步序列介面、10位A/D轉換器、DMACs、CRC計算機、X-Y轉換器、看門狗計時器、振盪停止檢測器、PLL合成器等等。除此之外,此系列還含有以下兩個優點:

 

  • 在編程3X快閃記憶體時,時間大幅縮短
  • 新單線除錯器(NSD)介面可連結單一接腳
