These products feature a wide package lineup of 20 to 80 pins, a maximum operating frequency of 20 MHz, and support operating voltages from 2.2 to 5.5 V. With on-chip three-phase PWM timers, they are suitable for 120° conducting control of brushless DC motors or 180° conducting control with sensor. They are suitable for simple open-loop control applications such as 120°conducting control and 180° conducting control with sensor of brushless DC motors, and constant V/f IM motor control.
In particular, the R8C/2K Series and others have advantages which include the reduction of the need for external parts through the incorporation of functions such as a power-on reset circuit, a low voltage detection circuit, and an on-chip oscillator, in addition to motor control functions.
