ZigBee® is a low power wireless network technology well-suited to sensor data collection and embedded control. ZigBee networks can be self-building and self-repairing. Wireless communication within radius of tens to hundreds of meters can be achieved per hop, and large multi-hop networks can be built. The technology is well-suited to a wide range of automatic meter reading, factory automation, energy-saving control, and security applications, in factories, commercial buildings, hospitals, and residences.
These development platforms, when combined with the ZigBee PRO SDK (Software Development Kit), Smart Energy Pro, RF4CE SDK, or SimpleNET SDK, all available separately, enable, respectively, wireless peer-to-peer mesh networking compliant with the ZigBee PRO standard, applications compliant with the Home Automation Profile and the Smart Energy Profile, RF remote controllers compliant with the RF4CE standard, and simple networks operating on small code size. These evaluation boards enable system developers and OEMs to easily develop prototypes and products.
