Air Conditioner (Low-End)

Overview

The increasing use of air conditioning in domestic usage is driving the demand for reduced power consumption and smaller compressor units. In addition to maintaining a comfortable room temperature, fine-grained control using multiple sensors is required.

To help designers realize these functions Renesas provides an extensive line up of microcontrollers designed specifically for use in indoor and outdoor air conditioning units and for use in remote controls. The R8C/2K and the RL78 Family are low pin count microcontrollers enabling a low cost solution for inverter control in outdoor units, the RX210 Series and the RL78 Series  are designed for indoor units, the 179K Series and the 38D2 Group of LCD MCUs are for use in remote controls. Renesas delivers solutions optimized to customer requirements.
